Vidiot camera in/sync

Hi. I have two cameras: an old camcorder and a security camera I purchased to use with the Vidiot. When I plug the camcorder into the Vidiot it works fine, when I plug the security camera in it just scrolls. I’ve read about gen-lock but I’m wondering why the camcorder works fine as an input but other cameras need to be gen-locked.

because in this case the camcorder is working as the master, ie providing the synch

whereas I suspect that the security camera is expecting a synch signal in to lock/slave to - maybe there is a switch or something to change this - otherwise you should just need the correct cable

Thanks. There are no additional inputs on the security camera.

OK maybe you could post make/model/pictures of camera - someone else might have seen one before (and maybe got it working)
