I don’t know that we have one place for us to post our videos to that we want to share with the community. I may have just missed the thread.
anyway
I’ll start with some vidiot feedback
this was using two cameras two projectors and one vidiot
what have you all been working on?
#2 — nerdware · 2018-11-12
Well, since you asked…I have two recent videos.
The first is some old feedback with some recently added audio.
The second video was created more recently, with some live audio providing some of the modulation. It’s actually two recordings spliced together, one made right after the other. Can you spot the join?
#3 — LauLindqvist · 2018-11-13
Recently made a music video together with a friend. What ended up becoming the final video was a slightly altered version of the internal demo in 4:3 format, using the latest of the recorded footage, which is from an analog panasonic tv production camera, together with some live filterings made live, to demonstrate some concepts. After the demo was done I worked full on for a week with the more advanced concept, compositing sony a7sii HD footage with a shitload of anamorphic analog takes using all my LZX, panasonic mx50s etc. the final number of visual tracks was over 100 when wrapping up the project in FCP.
In the end i’m quite happy with the one chosen, but it was kind of strange to have someone else decide on the final output. I’m normally delivering as i produce, both when VJing and teaching.
Heres the release version:
Will ask the singer for permission to share the unreleased HD version which is very different, for you to see, if you promise not to share it further

Live VHS remixes! That’s what I’m calling it anyway. Streaming my VHS collection processed by AV set up. Hours of past broadcasts archived at the moment. Just wanted to share. Hope you enjoy!

Wow this is so cool LauLindqvist!
There’s so much there to keep the viewer occupied, the songwriters must have been very happy with your work, thanks for sharing.

Recently had a Propellerhead Reason friend make some music for a video I made for my friend Greg.
Visual Cortex and various other LZX modules along with a title maker from BPMC and live video feedback were used here:

here is a video i did which was fillmed live.
it was captured with a canopus advc-100.
Transferring it to youtube really added some messed up artifacts to it.
#8 — Cryptic · 2019-04-21
This probably won’t seem too exciting to those of you here who have better skills, but I kind of like how this experiment came out. Basically it’s just colorizing a b/w video of a ceiling fan, but I like the way the color changes interact with the fan speed.
#9 — tenshun · 2019-06-08
Here is a 15 minute video mix using the memory palace, visual cortex, navigator, staircase, brown shoes only triple vca. All are being modulated by other eurorack modules and utilities.
Captured with Canopus ADVC-100 into iMovie.
Thank you LZX for making such awesome modules!

Heres a visual mixtape of some Eurorack modules controlling some LZX modules.
#24 — Cryptic · 2020-05-29
A friend composed the music so I tried to make some video to go with it. It’s got some issues but I’m happy with how this came out. I had to adjust it slightly because I have no way to record audio and video at the same time right now and it was hard to match it up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bvov7WqXVVcA question for all you experts out there: At one point I wanted to add an element and the only way to do it was to plug in a patch at the right moment which I couldn’t do as smoothly as I would like. I suspect there is a better way to add something to the signal, that but don’t know what it might be.
#25 — Agawell · 2020-05-29
regarding your question - a mixer or fader would do the job - pendulum, passage, bridge, cadet fader, some of the brownshoes only modules (iirc) and reverselandfill matrix mixer can all do this - some non-video eurorack utility mixers may also work - but they may also slew the result

6 pairs video feedback sessions blended in post, with animated and displaced Dobbsheads used for the soft key. Also: photosensitivity processing to reduce oscillations. I cranked the filtering up to an extreme settings to emphasise the foreground animation. The defaults are more subtle.
Yes, I’ve been learning some new post-processing tricks during lockdown.

In case you missed it my husband and I did a livestream for scanlines.xyz yesterday afternoon here it is in its entirety
here is the description
"audio/visual performance from july, 24th 2020
we played together
live music for the first 20 minutes or so then prerecorded
https://coordinator.bandcamp.com/album/craft-crates
^^^ this is a link to download all the music from the stream plus 15 hand made paper marbling scans in 2 resolutions (original & 720x480)
during this stream we asked everyone who participated to pick a number between 1 and 100 then we rolled a 100 sided dice and posted it to our instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CDCdU8uBBjY/
the person who picked closest without going over will be getting a prize picked by again rolling the dice. I’ve made a d100 table for that and will use it for all of our streams moving forward. We will also be making any music available via bandcamp like we did with this one.
Main gear
document cam
HDMI to component box
Component splitter
practical lighting stuff
computer for recording, streaming, and monitoring
BMD USB3 intensity shuttle
LZX gear
vessel case
visual cortex
visual cortex expander
memory palace
topogram
doorway
arch
passive mults
Escher sketch
patch was something like mult full RGB of incoming document cam and one set went into channel A of visual cortex then pieces got sent to arch, topogram, doorway and reconstituted in the memory palace input then memory palace out to channel B of visual cortex as well as pieces from topogram and arch going into the composite and colorize inputs at different times. escher sketch was just doing some XY stuff on memory palace
Audio gear
plumbutter 2
cocoquantus 2
OP1
continuumini
patch was continuumini into OP1 split to cocoquantus input 1 and plumbutter gong input then plumbutter output went into cocoquantus input 2 I set the plumbutter patch before the stream and didn’t repatch anything during just messed with controls to change timing, pitch and mixing the cocoquantus patch was a very simple cross patched grey out to speed in on the opposite coco then one slow castle out from the middle modulated either the volume or flip of the cocos.
this was a bit of a race against the clock as our streaming computer has a dying battery so it can only take about an hour of heavy use at this point even plugged in. You can see that by the end of the stream the computer was not having it and the stream turns into a series of stills luckily that was just for the very ending though
enjoy the stream we already already planning our next one

Learning to get along with my still fairly new cadet system led to this little doodle:
Eventually the hope is to figure out how to more deeply integrate the synth into my video work, perhaps even narratively… But for now this self referential thing will have to do.
All of the video is generated by cadet modules with some modulation and all of the audio coming from a Serge centric diy audio system. I’m finding the “patch programming” mentality of the serge modules is fairly similar to the “basic building block” approach of the cadets. Now I just need to find a module with a big “synthesize” button…

Hey folks, here is my portfolio

https://vimeo.com/showcase/6529523Dr. Rek aka Derek Sajbel has been producing music, performing live, DJing, and VJing around the world since the late 90s. Having played with video feedback since his childhood, in 2018 when LZX Industries released the ideal feedback tool the Vidiot,...

(Vimeo compression isn’t the best for video synthesis content unfortunately) But more recent stuff can be found on my Twitch and Instagram https://www.instagram.com/dr_rek/ https://www.twitch.tv/dr_rek/
Have been wondering if scanlines.xyz would allow me to share the 20 Mbp HEVC files I upload that look so much better than anything else available online right now.

Made this earlier this year, but only just got around to posting it now. This is a visualization for a folk music piece.
The rabbit images were edited together in advance with Adobe Premiere Elements, then various LZX modules were used to process it with dreamy colors, no editing after that except to add the music back in. Didn’t come out how I had in mind at the outset, but I learned a lot in doing it and I think it looks cool.

#39 — sean · 2020-11-03
Admittedly, way less LZX-y than most of the stuff posted here. But, somewhat similar in process to the video I posted over in that Castle thread, this leans heavily on B&W, sound-reactive Castle patches. However, instead of just editing those together themselves, I used them as alpha channels to composite several camera angles of performance footage. …Ending up with something kinda Cubist(?).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIzgjVMVINgI dunno. Always hard to tell if I’ve gone off the deep end and made something that the performers are going to hate (and will induce seizures), but I think there are some cool moments.

I was commisioned to build a hand full of Visible Signal Gainbrain modules (2 input Crossfader & Multiplier circuit inspired by the Cadet range) & this included normalising the outputs of each unit to the Input1 of the next module to the right. I set this up with 3 modules, racked them, powered it up & it came to life to create some great visuals. I also cheekily misused a cool looking PCB that I thought was begging to be featured in a video!

All the modulation is curtosey of the Syntonie VU-006 Quad Osc.
I couldn’t of made these images without a Visual Cortex, Staircase, Doorway & a Cadet IV Ramps.

After watching to many scanimate and “mind’s eye” videos earlier this year in lockdown mode, i got obsessed with the idea to do “early computer” animation style musicvideo with the sequence capabilities of the lzx memory palace ( mempal).
Background is a videoloop made in blender by a friend and feed into the mempal via rgb inputs.
The bird / dragon is a 64 frame sequence, played by the mempal media loader. Its animated / modulated with a syntonie quad lfo (x, y, zoom) and another lfo for the Rotation.
Also mixing / keying a little bit the background with the fox shutter and vs rgb matrix.
Cutscenes are all done in Blender.
Maybe its kind absurd to do the animations with analog gear (because it would be easy to do everything in blender but also takes a lot of time). had so much fun working on this. Was happy like a child, when i figured out how to scrubb through the pngs with a lfo. Also wanna keep the innocent vibe, like you got in early computer graphic Animation films

In particular, Kiss that frog. Obviously there are differences, however the similarity between the frog and your bird during the movement scenes really stood out to me.
