Annex C (informative) — Rails with no published section
These rails are sold. No cross-section was found, so none is drawn.
| Rail | What was found |
|---|---|
| Synthrotek | A drill template. No cross-section. The bracket screw is a #10-24 × 1 in screw into the center slot. |
| SynthRacks | No drawing. One face has a lip and the other has none. The case screw is an M5×35. The module screw is an M3. The end fixing takes the same M5 screw as a Gie-Tec rail. |
| Elby Designs Construct-A-Rack | No cross-section. The rail end is tapped M5. A module is fastened with an M3×10 screw, or an M2.5 screw. M3×10 is an EIS mounting screw; M2.5 is subrack hardware outside EIS. |
| apra 241-022 | Standard module rail. The catalog gives M2.5 threaded inserts, 7 mm × 2 mm. That insert is wider than the recommended groove; apra's 5 mm × 1.5 mm M2.5 insert fits the recommended groove (A.0) but is subrack hardware, not an EIS insert (RAIL-003). The catalog does not print the rail section. Part 241-049 is the same rail with a 10 mm roof for an extractor handle. |
| Elma IEC and IEEE front extrusions | The retrieved datasheets are front panels, not the subrack rail. The rail section was not in them. |
| Polyrack FerroRAIL | An optional IEEE 1101.10 front rail is named. The catalog does not print its section. |
| Tech Creation Lab, Exploding Shed | Type A has a lid. Type B has no lid. Each has a low-profile version, the same rail without the back. The module screw is M3. The case hole is an untapped M5. No section is published. |
| MDLR | Rails in the cases are flush with the side and take an M3 threaded insert. No section is published. |
A search of manufacturer pages and of ModWiggler and Reddit found no published rail section from Intellijel, 4ms, Befaco, Erica, Make Noise, Pittsburgh, Arturia, Behringer, or Cre8audio. Community DXF files of the Synthrotek rail and of the Gie-Tec rail are not manufacturer drawings, so they are not used here.
