Role: installer

ID Method Requirement
ASM-001 inspection A module shall be added to a row only while, on each rail of each power domain, the sum of the published currents stays within the published totals of every source and distribution product that feeds it, and the current through each outlet stays within that outlet's limit.
ASM-002 inspection At most one module shall transmit on each CV line and at most one on each gate line, where a line runs across linked bus boards up to a region split.
ASM-003 inspection Installation shall not connect bus power and DC entry power to the same dual-source module at the same time.

ASM-006 inspection A DC-VH2, DC-DIN4, DC-MF6, or DC-MF8 DC entry shall be mated only with that variant's plug.
ASM-007 inspection Each video reference tree in a row shall have exactly one source, a VID-REF-OUT or an external reference at one VID-REF-IN, and each VID-REF-IN shall be fed by one output.
ASM-008 inspection Each PWR-A6 entry shall be fed by one source at a time.
ASM-009 inspection Row wiring an installer adds between a power supply, bus boards, a product with PWR-DC12 outlets, or a DC entry shall meet PWR-006 and PWR-007, with each conductor landed on a terminal of the type the product publishes.

Supply ripple and noise

EIS · Measuring ripple and noise supply one rail +12 V 0 V load 0.1 µF ceramic 47 µF at the output terminals 300 mm (12 in) twisted pair oscilloscope, 20 MHz bandwidth peak-to-peak Each rail is loaded at the maker's stated test current and measured at the supply's output terminals, or at test points the product publishes, with 0.1 µF in parallel with 47 µF across the measurement point and a 300 mm (12 in) twisted pair to a 20 MHz oscilloscope. The supply publishes the peak-to-peak figure for each rail (SUP-001); every rail stays below 150 mV (SUP-007). A linear or post-regulated supply, typically under 10 mV, suits a row of MOD-VIDEO modules.

Measure each rail as stated in 6.2 and compare peak-to-peak with the published figure (SUP-001) and the 150 mV limit (SUP-007).

Module header current

Measure each rail's current at the module's header under its heaviest load; confirm it is within the published figure (PWR-001) and no more than 2 A (BUS-008). With the module running from a bench supply, confirm no current flows out of any rail pin into the supply (PWR-004).

DC entry

Confirm polarity, center positive on a barrel (DC-004) and the tabulated +V and −V pins on a multi-pin variant (DC-005), and that the published input voltage range is met at the published continuous current (PWR-001, DC-002).

VID-75 termination and drive

Measure the DC resistance from center pin to shell at the designated input and at each COAX-IN port: 75 Ω (V75-004, V75-006). At a COAX-OUT port, confirm the open-circuit level is twice the level into a 75 Ω load (V75-006).

MOD-VIDEO levels

DC-couple at the patch tip, and check the output against its claimed range: 0 to +1 V with a +1.2 V ceiling at U1 (SIG-008, SIG-014).

MOD-VIDEO impedances

For each MOD-VIDEO output, measure series resistance from the buffer output node to the patch tip: 75 Ω ±5 % (SIG-010). For each input, measure 100 kΩ ±10 % to 0 V at the tip (SIG-009). EIS recommends checking that each patch jack barrel is insulated from the panel (7.1).

Patch audio and CV

Check MOD-AUDIO and MOD-CV ports against their claimed ranges (SIG-005, SIG-006, SIG-014), and confirm that an input survives ±12 V and an output survives a short (SIG-002, SIG-003).
