Teletect Toolkit: Six New Videomancer Programs
Hi all! Videomancer firmware 1.0.1 builds in six programs from Phil Baljeu's Teletect Toolkit, for color mastering and glitch art.
One photograph through all six programs.

In Phil's words
What is the Teletect Toolkit all about?
"Teletect Toolkit is a collection of video post-processing tools that I think of as a pedalboard for multitrack video synthesis: a set of distinct effects to use at the end of a processing chain. These programs add treatments I can't achieve in the rack and provide a final layer of processing."
The toolkit runs from Finisher, a quiet mastering tool, to RamBend and PixSort, which tear the picture apart. Why build both kinds, and how do they work together?
"The programs cover what I consider integral parts of my processing chains. Finisher and Dither are two kinds of final-output processors, each working from a different side of the same coin. Finisher is an analogue-style grading tool that optimises the signal for the analogue domain. Dither represents an early digital post-processing stage, where data was compressed for final output.
"Enhancer and RamBend offer two approaches to circuit-bent processing. Enhancer takes an analogue approach, with edge ringing, clipping and chroma artefacts. RamBend uses a small buffer to manipulate the image digitally, evoking effects found in circuit-bent digital mixers.
"PixSort and Mosaic are granular spatial pixel-manipulation effects. They smear and obscure the image while retaining the source's colour. PixSort is more restrained over time, while Mosaic produces more flicker and movement in active images."
Which program should someone load first?
"In my opinion, RamBend is the best program to load first. It's the most fun to explore, with a range of textures and distortions to discover across different images. Its bend-matrix controls make it especially suited to experimentation."
The programs
RamBend. Bends frame memory: tracking tears, retained blocks, and prism drags. Prism Drag preset.
Dither. Palette prints, diffusion, and ordered RGB color. Forced Palette.
Enhancer. Detail and ringing, pushed into smear and color overload. Neon.
Finisher. The quiet one: detail, exposure crossover, and tonal mastering. Source left, Soft Punch right.
Mosaic. Adaptive blocks that follow the picture. Poster Mosaic.
PixSort. Real-time pixel sorting: color strands, smears, and stepped damage. Dark Ribbons.
