LZX Connect

LZX Connect is the desktop companion app for guided firmware updates across LZX hardware. Update Videomancer over USB-C, flash Scrolls, Diver, and Escher Sketch modules via rear USB DFU, and manage Videomancer program libraries: all from one desktop app.

Requires Videomancer firmware 1.x.x or later. Firmware 1.x.x is currently pre-release. If your device is on firmware 0.1.8, use the manual BOOT button method to upgrade to 1.x.x first. Once on 1.x.x, enable Show pre-releases in LZX Connect settings to see and install pre-release firmware updates.

LZX Connect 1.3.7

Bugfix release: Windows program library install reliability and USB storage mode recovery.

Fixed in 1.3.7

Program library install (Windows) — Pre-create all zip directory paths (official and community authors) before uploading files, so fresh SD cards no longer require manual folder creation via USB storage mode

Serial I/O retry — Recover from transient Windows CDC errors (os error 22) during intensive fs stat/mkdir round-trips, not only during file uploads

USB storage mode exit — Poll until the SD card is remounted before allowing program installs; refresh device and library state in the UI after exiting MSD

Error messages — Distinguish serial I/O failures, SD not mounted, and layout conflicts instead of misleading write-protection hints

Requires Videomancer firmware

Program library uploads need Videomancer 1.0.0-rc.40 or later (watchdog feeding during SD writes). Retry after a USB disconnect if the device reboots mid-transfer.

What It Does

Videomancer firmware, guided UF2 updates for 1.x.x → newer 1.x.x over USB-C
Eurorack module DFU, detect and flash Scrolls (MCU), Diver, and Escher Sketch via rear USB Mini-B bootloader
Install Program Library, installs the official LZX or community program library to Videomancer's microSD card over USB; no card reader needed
Load VMPROG File, streams a single .vmprog to device RAM over USB for development sideloading; not persistent across reboots
Version tracking for all connected devices
