Before you test

• Flash 1.0.0-rc.69 UF2 (full image)
• A bipolar CV source (±1 V or more) and a line-level audio source
• Optional - an rc.66–rc.68 preset that uses Audio Follower

Testing goals

• Nothing patched rests at Manual

  high

  1. Unplug all rear jacks. 2. Assign CV Input, Audio In, Comparator, Ring Mod, Peak Hold, and Quantizer to six parameters with Gain 100%. 3. Sweep each Manual knob.

  Pass: Each parameter follows its Manual knob exactly with no offset or drift. Per-line slots (P1–P6, P12) show no banding.

• 1 V at Gain 100% is full range

  high

  1. CV Input on P1, Manual at center, Gain 100%, Slew Off. 2. Feed 0 V, +0.5 V, +1 V, −1 V; read the input monitor (MOTION page 5).

  Pass: 0 V leaves Manual; +0.5 V moves halfway up; +1 V reaches the top; −1 V reaches the bottom. Monitor voltages read within ±0.05 V of the source.

• Audio In loudness and Release

  high

  1. Audio In, Manual low, Channel Ch1, Release 200ms. 2. Play drums at line level; adjust Gain so peaks near the top. 3. Stop playback; sweep Release from Off to 5.00s.

  Pass: Hits rise immediately; decay length tracks the Release readout. Silence returns to Manual. Ch1+2 with a stereo source never drops out.

• Slew Limiter and time knobs run the same way

  1. Slew Limiter, square-wave CV on Input 1, Gain 100%. 2. Sweep Rise and Fall from fully counter-clockwise to fully clockwise.

  Pass: Counter-clockwise reads Off and follows instantly; clockwise ramps get slower in straight lines, up to 5 s per volt.

• Per-line Comparator, Ring Mod, Peak Hold, Quantizer

  1. Feed an audio-rate triangle on Input 1 (and a second oscillator on 2). 2. Put Quantizer, Comparator, Peak Hold, and Ring Mod on P1–P4.

  Pass: Quantizer draws horizontal bands, Comparator draws on/off bands, Peak Hold leaves fading trails, Ring Mod draws interference stripes. Same operators on a toggle slot switch once per field.

• Same behavior on every format and slot class

  medium

  1. Signals - 1 kHz sine at −10 dBV and +4 dBu, a 0–1 V LFO, a ±5 V LFO, and jacks unpatched. 2. Repeat rest-is-manual, cv-scale, and audio-ballistics on P1, P7, and P12 in NTSC, PAL, 720p60, and 1080p24. 3. Repeat once with SYSTEM → Soft Pickup on and once off.

  Pass: −10 dBV reaches about 85% at Gain 100%; +4 dBu clips at Gain 100% and fits at about 30%. Release and Slew times match the readout on every format. P7 toggles cleanly. Results match with Soft Pickup on and off once the Manual knob has picked up.

• Audio Follower presets load as Audio In

  1. Load an rc.66–rc.68 preset that used Audio Follower.

  Pass: The slot shows Audio In, Channel Ch1+2, with the old Release and Gain.
