videomancer beta program

Archived RC: 1.0.2-rc.3

Programs sideloaded with Upload Program in LZX Connect should load even when the FPGA misses its first configuration, and the failure should say what went wrong instead of "bitstream read failed". Library installs, the picker and MIDI Assign fixes from rc.2 are carried over. This candidate has not been through the desk bench.

Before you test

  • Flash 1.0.2-rc.3 UF2 (full image) via LZX Connect with Show pre-releases on
  • LZX Connect 1.3.10 or newer
  • Developer Mode on (SYSTEM menu) to sideload unsigned programs

Testing goals

  • Sideload a large third-party program

    high

    1. In LZX Connect, choose Upload Program and pick a large community .vmprog (for example CA SmoothLife v2). 2. If it fails, note the full error text, then choose Upload Program again with the same file, up to two more times. 3. Note how many tries it took and whether the program runs afterwards.

Pass: The program loads within three tries. Any failure shows code 738197512 (FPGA did not configure) rather than a bitstream read error.

  • Normal loads stay fast after a retry

    medium

    1. After a sideload that needed a second try, pick a different program from the SD card. 2. Switch between three or four programs and note roughly how long each takes.

Pass: SD program changes take as long as they did on rc.2; nothing stays slow until reboot.

  • Library install (carried from rc.2)

    low

    1. Power-cycle with the card seated and start Update Community Programs as soon as Connect sees the device.

Pass: The install completes without a timeout.
