videomancer beta program

Archived RC: 1.0.2-rc.5

The built-in Bitcullis program is in colour again; it had shown only brightness since 1.0.0. Everything from rc.4 (bipolar Gain/Depth attenuverters) is carried over. This candidate has not been through the desk bench.

Before you test

  • Flash 1.0.2-rc.5 UF2 (full image) via LZX Connect with Show pre-releases on
  • LZX Connect 1.3.10 or newer (1.3.14 recommended)

Testing goals

  • Bitcullis shows the source colours

    high

    1. Feed a colourful source (colour bars or a camera) and load Bitcullis. 2. Compare against Passthru, then turn up Hori Decimate and Vert Decimate.

Pass: The picture keeps the source's colours at every decimation setting, with no colour fringes or stripes along the block edges.

  • Chroma Poster and Luma to Chroma change the colour

    high

    1. With Bitcullis loaded on a colour source, sweep Chroma Poster. 2. Sweep Luma to Chroma.

Pass: Chroma Poster steps the colours into fewer bands; Luma to Chroma changes colour saturation with brightness. Neither leaves the picture grey.

  • Bitcullis on SD analog input

    medium

    1. Feed an NTSC or PAL composite or component source and load Bitcullis.

Pass: The program loads and shows colour; the picture is stable.

  • Gain/Depth attenuverters still behave as in rc.4

    medium

    1. Set a modulator to Free LFO and sweep Depth from right through center to left.

Pass: Center is null; left moves opposite to right by the same amount.
